Welcome to the unofficial blog of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in San Clemente. Unofficial--because while I am the pastor at OSLC, the reality is that all of us are part of the priesthood of all believers, so while I might get a more prominent voice, as per my vocation, OSLC is far too complex to be understood simply through the musings of it's pastor. Here is wishing everyone a very Merry Chirstmas. I have been thinking about my Christmas Eve sermon.... Mostly it is my job to get out of the way of the songs, the story, the lighting of candles and just help keep things smooth. Yet, it is still a time to proclaim the word, to give a sermon to some who may not have been in a church for years. What do you say? What do you not say? Here's a Christmas challange to anyone reading this blog...take a few minutes to think about what your Christmas Eve message would be. What would you want to include, and what message would you want the people to take away from worship?
Feel free to let me know what you come up with! Peace! pj
