First another shout out to Turkish Airlines. Left right on time from LAX and arrived in Istanbul Turkey 12 hours and 5 minutes latter. The food was amazing...restaurant quality. All food and beverage complimentary. A spacious B 777 with state of the art entertainment including your own touch screen with movies, audio books, music, games...whatever you want. And as someone who flys economy I love the fact that you deplane at the front and the back of the aircraft.
Turkey passport control....not so hot. I landed at 4:35 local time (pm) didn't get through passport control until 7pm and I had no checked baggage! But Istanbul is definitely worth it. Next blog will have night time pix and first impressions of this amazing city.
